Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks, perfect for weeknight dinners or weekend cookouts.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, drizzle a bit of olive oil and heat it over medium-high.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until tender. If using mushrooms, toss them in and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push the veggies to the side and add the ground beef. Break it apart and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. While your cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Once the cheese melts, spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll.
  8. For added texture, consider toasting the rolls before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
