Ingredients
- 1 lb raw shrimp (peeled and deveined, preferably large or jumbo size)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (for marinade and brushing)
- 2 lemons (juice and zest, freshly squeezed and grated)
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Make the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Marinate the Shrimp: Place the shrimp in a bowl or resealable bag, pour the marinade over them, and ensure they’re coated. Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.
- Grill the Shrimp: Thread the shrimp onto skewers or place them on the grill rack, grilling for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Check for Doneness: Remove the shrimp when they are fully opaque and have grill marks.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving platter, add a squeeze of lemon or sprinkle with zest, and enjoy!
Notes
For more flavor, marinate the shrimp for longer (30 minutes to an hour). Serve with a refreshing salad or over rice.
