Description
Tender and flavorful Italian meatballs made with a blend of ground beef and pork, perfect for pasta dishes or sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 jar marinara sauce (about 24–28 ounces)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking; or heat a skillet over medium-high heat if browning first.
- Combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a large bowl.
- Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Arrange meatballs on a lightly oiled baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or brown them in a skillet for 6–8 minutes, then transfer to simmering marinara for 15–20 minutes.
- Serve hot with marinara over spaghetti, on toasted rolls, or alongside roasted vegetables.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute with ground turkey or chicken and add olive oil. For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
