Description

A rich and creamy flour-free scalloped potatoes recipe that’s simple to prepare and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme, stirring until well mixed.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices at the bottom of the greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layered potatoes and sprinkle with half of the Swiss and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and remaining cheeses.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
  7. Allow cooling for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For creative variations, try adding different types of cheese, sautéed onions, or even layers of zucchini for added nutrition.
