Ingredients
- 2 cups white granulated sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- ⅔ cup vegetable oil (or canola oil/melted butter)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease 6 miniature loaf pans or 2 standard 1-pound loaf pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil on low speed until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans, filling each about 1 inch from the top and optionally sprinkle sugar on top.
- Bake for 40 minutes (for mini loaves) or 50 minutes (for large loaves), or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing, and serve warm or with a glaze if desired.
Notes
Spoon flour into the measuring cup for accuracy. Avoid overmixing for fluffy bread. Use toothpick to test for doneness.
