Description

A delightful starter featuring smoked salmon on toasted bread, topped with cream cheese, capers, and red onion.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or sliced bagels
  • 8 oz smoked salmon
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Fresh dill, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes, until lightly golden.
  4. While the bread is toasting, spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice.
  5. Layer pieces of smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese.
  6. Add a few capers and slices of red onion on each crostini.
  7. Garnish with fresh dill.
  8. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute cream cheese with Greek yogurt. Use whole wheat bread for a healthier twist.
