Description
A simple yet elegant side dish featuring tender and slightly crisp asparagus, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Ingredients
- 1 pound asparagus (ends trimmed)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Take a piece of the asparagus, hold both ends, and gently snap it to determine where to trim the woody part.
- Trim the remaining asparagus to match the size of the snapped piece.
- Place the asparagus in a large resealable bag or plastic container.
- Drizzle in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.
- If time allows, let the asparagus marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Spread the asparagus onto a baking sheet, making sure they are spaced apart.
- Roast for approximately 20 minutes, or until they reach your desired tenderness.
- Add a final drizzle of balsamic vinegar just before serving.
Notes
For additional flavor, consider adding garlic or lemon zest to the olive oil mixture.
