Description
A simplified version of the classic pineapple upside-down cake, this dump cake is easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 can crushed pineapple (with juice)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 box yellow or pineapple-flavored cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the crushed pineapple, including its juice, into the bottom of a baking dish.
- Evenly sprinkle brown sugar over the layer of pineapple.
- Disperse the dry cake mix evenly over the pineapple and sugar.
- Drizzle the melted butter atop the cake mix.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is fully set.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and consider adding toasted coconut or nuts for extra flavor.
