Description

Transform your chicken with this Easy Mexican Chicken Marinade, featuring zesty lime and vibrant spices for a bold flavor.

Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast
  • ½ tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, brown sugar, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Take the chicken breasts and place them in a shallow dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken and ensure it’s evenly coated. Seal it with cling film or close the bag and refrigerate. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, but for best results, aim for up to 24 hours.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Preheat your grill, pan, or oven to your desired setting. Cook the marinated chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C). Use an instant-read thermometer for accuracy. Whether you choose to bake, grill, air fry, or pan-fry, your chicken will be bursting with flavor.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add more chili powder or a dash of hot sauce. This marinade is also excellent for other meats and vegetables.
