Description

Delicious flaky biscuits perfect for breakfast or as a comforting side.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 Cup salted butter (cold, cut into small pieces)
  • 3/4 Cup milk (cooled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425° F (220° C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles small peas.
  4. Add the cold milk gradually, mixing with a fork until the dough is slightly sticky.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and fold it over about 10 times to create layers.
  6. Flatten the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  7. Arrange the biscuits on an ungreased dark baking pan.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Notes

For variations, try adding shredded cheese or herbs for extra flavor.
