Description
Quick and flavorful ground turkey tacos that everyone can customize at the table.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Taco shells (hard shells, soft tortillas, or lettuce wraps)
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Shredded cheese
- Salsa
Instructions
- Heat the oil. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Sauté aromatics. Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
- Brown the turkey. Add ground turkey. Cook 6–8 minutes, stirring and breaking it up, until no longer pink.
- Season. Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, paprika, plus salt and pepper. Stir well so the spices coat the meat evenly.
- Finish cooking. Cook for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is fully cooked and the flavors come together.
- Serve. Spoon into taco shells and pile on your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use smaller crumbles of turkey for better seasoning. Add a splash of broth or salsa if using very lean turkey.
