Ingredients
- 1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the shredded rotisserie chicken, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the milk and melted butter until a dough forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering chicken mixture.
- Cover the pot and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, sauté onions, garlic, and carrots before adding the chicken and broth. You can substitute vegetables for added nutrients.
