Description

A delightful blend of juicy cherries and a buttery, flaky crust, this easy cherry cobbler is perfect for gatherings and family traditions.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the cherries: In a bowl, mix the cherries with sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into a greased baking dish.
  3. Make the dough: In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water gradually until the mixture forms a dough.
  4. Assemble: Spoon the dough over the cherry mixture, spreading it out to cover the cherries as best as you can.
  5. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
