Ingredients
- 4 cups cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the cherries: In a bowl, mix the cherries with sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Make the dough: In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water gradually until the mixture forms a dough.
- Assemble: Spoon the dough over the cherry mixture, spreading it out to cover the cherries as best as you can.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
