Description
Deliciously warm cheese garlic rolls perfect for any occasion, filled with melted cheese and roasted garlic.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- Parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture alongside the melted butter.
- Stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, then sprinkle with minced garlic and cheese. Roll it up tightly into a log and cut into equal pieces.
- Lay the rolls into a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 20–30 minutes.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
Notes
For a more intense garlic flavor, consider roasting the garlic before adding it to the roll mixture. Try different cheeses for variety!
