Description
Crispy, golden-brown deep fried turkey ribs marinated in buttermilk for maximum tenderness and coated in a perfectly seasoned flour blend.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs turkey ribs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups vegetable oil or peanut oil
- Dipping sauces (BBQ, ranch, or honey mustard)
Instructions
- Marinate the turkey ribs in a mixture of buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, baking powder, and salt. Dredge the marinated ribs in the mixture and let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) and carefully fry the ribs for 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer the cooked ribs to a wire rack and serve hot with favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double coating the ribs. Maintain oil temperature during frying for best results.
