Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are crispy fried chicken cutlets layered with mozzarella cheese and drizzled with a sweet and spicy bang bang sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds thin sliced chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder (for seasoning)
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups Panko bread crumbs (more if needed)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slider rolls
  • Bang Bang Sauce (mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, honey)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Prepare breading stations: Bowl 1: Flour + cornstarch, Bowl 2: Buttermilk + hot sauce + egg, Bowl 3: Panko bread crumbs.
  3. Bread the chicken: Dredge chicken in flour mixture, then dip in buttermilk mixture, then coat in breadcrumbs, pressing them in for full coverage.
  4. Fry the cutlets: Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F internal temperature). Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.
  5. Make the sauce: Whisk mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, and honey until smooth. Adjust spice to taste.
  6. Assemble sliders: Cut chicken into slider-sized pieces, place on buns, top with mozzarella slices, and drizzle with bang bang sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, cook the chicken in an air fryer or bake until crispy. Keep chicken warm in a 325°F oven if making ahead. Serve sauce at room temperature so it doesn’t cool the sliders.
