Ingredients
- 3 pounds Yukon Gold Potatoes
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Thinly slice the Yukon Gold potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in flour and cook for another minute, mixing well.
- Gradually whisk in heavy cream, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Add salt, pepper, and thyme, mixing to combine.
- In a greased baking dish, place a layer of potatoes, then cover with sauce and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with sauce on top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a mandoline for uniform potato slices.
