Description
An elegant and comforting dish of shrimp in a rich creamy garlic sauce with wilted spinach, ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp (fresh or frozen, tails on recommended)
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
- ⅛ teaspoon red crushed pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Season both sides of the shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 30 seconds on each side until they turn pink. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic and red crushed pepper to the skillet and cook for 15 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in fresh spinach and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
- Pour in heavy cream and add parmesan cheese, cooking for 6-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, cover, and cook over low heat for an additional 30 seconds until heated through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Use fresh spinach for the best texture. Don’t overcook the shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture.
