Description

A comforting casserole with chicken, Swiss cheese, and a creamy sauce topped with buttery stuffing.


Ingredients

  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese (about 6 ounces total)
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • ¾ cup dry white wine or water
  • 1½ cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix, crushed
  • ¾ cup ( sticks) butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish and place one slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and wine (or water) until smooth.
  4. Spoon the soup mixture evenly over the cheese-topped chicken breasts.
  5. Sprinkle the crushed stuffing mix evenly over the entire dish and drizzle the melted butter over the stuffing.
  6. Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pound chicken for even cooking and don’t skip the butter for a crispy topping.
