A family-favorite dish combining tender chicken breasts with a creamy sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
- 4 large chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
- 1 can (10 ¾ oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10 ¾ oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (8 oz) mushrooms (stems and pieces), drained
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chives (chopped)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then place them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, mushrooms, water, onion powder, and chives. Spoon this creamy mixture over the chicken breasts in the baking pan and sprinkle with paprika.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40-60 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. The cream mixture should be lightly browned on top.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta. Roasted vegetables or a simple green salad would make a great side dish.
