Description
These Coffin Halloween Sandwiches are perfect for an after-school snack or a fun Halloween lunch with kids. Easy to make, versatile with fillings, and a great addition to any Halloween party spread.
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread (for each sandwich)
- 1 slice American cheese
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 pepperoni slice (for topping)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp jelly (grape or strawberry)
- 1 tsp jelly (for topping)
Instructions
- For the Cheese and Mayo Version: Spread mayonnaise on one slice of bread and add cheese. Cover with the second slice of bread, turning vertically.
- Cut outward slants from the sides of the sandwich to shape a coffin. Cut two slants inward at the top and trim the edges to finish.
- Cut a pepperoni slice into a cross and place it on top of the sandwich.
- For the Peanut Butter and Jelly Version: Spread peanut butter and jelly on one slice of bread, place the second slice on top.
- Shape the sandwich into a coffin by cutting vertical slants and trimming the top and bottom.
- Mix a small amount of jelly until softened and use to create a cross on top.
Notes
Use a sharp knife for clean cuts. Serve on a dark plate with parsley or sprouts for a graveyard effect. Try various fillings for fun twists.
