Description
Delicious and creamy classic Southern deviled eggs, perfect for picnics and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Paprika for garnish
- Optional: chopped chives or dill for added flavor
Instructions
- Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water.
- Bring the water to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.
- After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs into an ice bath for about 5 minutes until cool.
- Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
- Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Mash the yolks with a fork, then mix in the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg whites.
- Dust with paprika and garnish with chopped chives or dill if desired.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
For easy peeling, use slightly older eggs. Consider adding pickle relish or hot sauce for extra flavor.
