Description

Delicious and creamy classic Southern deviled eggs, perfect for picnics and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Optional: chopped chives or dill for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water.
  2. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.
  3. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs into an ice bath for about 5 minutes until cool.
  4. Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
  5. Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  6. Mash the yolks with a fork, then mix in the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  7. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg whites.
  8. Dust with paprika and garnish with chopped chives or dill if desired.
  9. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For easy peeling, use slightly older eggs. Consider adding pickle relish or hot sauce for extra flavor.
