Description
Tender and flavorful meatballs that are perfect for spaghetti night or meatball subs, these classic Italian meatballs are easy to make and incredibly delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
- 1/4 cup milk (whole or dairy-free)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- Soak the breadcrumbs in milk for 3–5 minutes.
- Combine ground beef, Parmesan, soaked breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Mix gently to avoid overmixing.
- Form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place on the baking sheet and optionally brush with olive oil.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until fully cooked.
- Optional: Brown in a skillet for extra flavor before baking or add directly to simmering sauce for 25–30 minutes.
- Rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Breadcrumbs can be substituted with crushed crackers or oats. For a lighter texture, add finely chopped onion.
