Description

Indulge in rich chocolate brownie cookies that combine the fudgy texture of brownies with the hand-held format of cookies, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly underbaked.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute applesauce for half the butter, or use gluten-free flour as needed. Be sure not to overbake for that perfect gooey texture!
