Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, stirring until smooth.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Top with the ground beef mixture, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the layers, then repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef. Finally, pour the rest of the soup mixture on top.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a crispy texture, consider broiling the cheese for the last few minutes of cooking. Add vegetables for extra nutrition.
