Description

A Crunchy, Flavor-Packed Delight perfect for summer picnics or as a potluck staple.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • ⅔ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup salted sunflower seeds
  • ⅓ cup red onion, diced
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, cheddar cheese, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and diced red onion. Gently toss to mix everything.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving to let those flavors meld together.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use low-fat mayo or Greek yogurt. Consider lightly steaming the broccoli for 2-3 minutes before cooling in ice water.
