A quick and easy blackened shrimp recipe bursting with flavor, perfect for summer barbecues or quick weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Remoulade sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Mix together the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Toss the shrimp in a bowl with olive oil and the spice mixture until they are evenly coated.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with remoulade sauce for dipping, or incorporate into salads or tacos.
Notes
For optimal flavor, let the shrimp marinate in the spice mixture for at least 15 minutes before cooking. Use a cast-iron skillet for that perfect sear.
