Description

A flavorful dish featuring spicy blackened shrimp and creamy cavatappi pasta, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cavatappi pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp blackening seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and keep aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Coat the shrimp with blackening seasoning and add them to the skillet. Cook until they are completely opaque—about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped bell pepper and garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and blends into the sauce.
  6. Now, return both the cavatappi and the shrimp to the skillet. Stir gently to ensure that they are well immersed in the delicious sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste preferences.
  8. Finish with chopped parsley as a fresh garnish before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize the spice level or substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu.
