Description
A cozy Italian classic that’s cheesy, crowd-pleasing, and perfect for your festive table!
Ingredients
- 24 jumbo pasta shells, cooked
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 egg
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce (divided)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13” baking pan and spread 1½ cups marinara sauce at the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, blend ricotta, 1½ cups mozzarella, Parmesan, seasoning, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Fill cooked shells with the cheese mixture and arrange them in the dish.
- Top with the remaining marinara and mozzarella.
- Cover with foil, bake for 20 min, then uncover and bake an additional 10 min until cheese is golden.
- Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Under-cook the pasta a little; it finishes in the oven. Use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest melt. Substitute spinach or ground beef for a heartier filling.
