Description

A cozy Italian classic that’s cheesy, crowd-pleasing, and perfect for your festive table!


Ingredients

  • 24 jumbo pasta shells, cooked
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (divided)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13” baking pan and spread 1½ cups marinara sauce at the bottom.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend ricotta, 1½ cups mozzarella, Parmesan, seasoning, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fill cooked shells with the cheese mixture and arrange them in the dish.
  4. Top with the remaining marinara and mozzarella.
  5. Cover with foil, bake for 20 min, then uncover and bake an additional 10 min until cheese is golden.
  6. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Under-cook the pasta a little; it finishes in the oven. Use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest melt. Substitute spinach or ground beef for a heartier filling.
