Ingredients
- 4 ripe Hass avocados
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
- 1 finely chopped serrano pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 heaping teaspoon minced garlic
- Juice of 1/2 lime
Instructions
- Mash the avocados in a large bowl to your preferred consistency.
- Add the chopped red onion, cilantro, serrano pepper, salt, and minced garlic. Mix well.
- Incorporate the lime juice and stir again.
- Chill by covering with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve with tortilla chips, salads, or as a topping on burgers and quesadillas.
Notes
For variation, try adding diced tomatoes or mangoes, or use lemon instead of lime juice.
