Description

Delicious Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos featuring crispy shrimp with a zesty sauce wrapped in warm tortillas.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes for serving

Instructions

  1. Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for about 30 minutes to maximize flavor and tenderness.
  2. Mix cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Dredge the shrimp in the cornstarch mixture, ensuring they’re evenly coated, then fry them in the hot oil. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden and crispy.
  5. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha (if using), and lime juice to create the bang bang sauce.
  6. Assemble the tacos: Place crispy shrimp onto flour tortillas, drizzle with bang bang sauce, and top with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy your taco fiesta!

Notes

Store leftovers separately to maintain crispiness. Store shrimp in an airtight container for up to 2 days, and reheat in the oven. Frozen shrimp can be used, just ensure they are thawed.
