Description

A delightful dish featuring crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy Bang Bang sauce with your choice of pasta, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup cornstarch (for dredging the shrimp)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Dredge each shrimp in cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
  2. Fry the shrimp: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Boil the pasta: In a large pot, cook the spaghetti or fettuccine according to package instructions. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  4. Whisk the sauce: In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Sauté garlic: In the same pan used for the shrimp, add olive oil and sauté the remaining garlic until fragrant.
  6. Toss the pasta: Add the cooked pasta and some reserved pasta water to the pan, mixing in the Bang Bang sauce until the pasta is well coated.
  7. Add the shrimp: Gently fold in the crispy shrimp with the pasta.
  8. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with Parmesan, green onions, and red pepper flakes if using.
  9. Enjoy your flavorful Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta hot!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace shrimp with crispy tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
