Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ cup cornstarch (for dredging the shrimp)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Dredge each shrimp in cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
- Fry the shrimp: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Boil the pasta: In a large pot, cook the spaghetti or fettuccine according to package instructions. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Whisk the sauce: In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic. Whisk until smooth.
- Sauté garlic: In the same pan used for the shrimp, add olive oil and sauté the remaining garlic until fragrant.
- Toss the pasta: Add the cooked pasta and some reserved pasta water to the pan, mixing in the Bang Bang sauce until the pasta is well coated.
- Add the shrimp: Gently fold in the crispy shrimp with the pasta.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with Parmesan, green onions, and red pepper flakes if using.
