Description

A vibrant steak appetizer topped with bright cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying on a cozy night.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or filet mignon recommended)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze (optional for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steak: Season with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Sear the steak for 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
  3. Assemble the appetizer: On a large platter, arrange the steak slices, cherry tomato halves, and mozzarella balls.
  4. Finish with fresh basil on top and drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze if using.
  5. Serve immediately: Enjoy while the steak is warm!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute steak with chicken or a hearty portobello mushroom.
