Description

Enjoy a hot, cheesy Italian sub packed with flavorful beef and turkey, roasted peppers, and tangy dressing.

Ingredients

  • 1 × 12-inch Italian sub loaf (fresh from the bakery)
  • 34 tbsp Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup marinated roasted red peppers, sliced thin
  • 1/4 lb beef pastrami, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb smoked turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb beef salami, thinly sliced
  • 1/8 lb beef pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb Fontina cheese, thinly sliced
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise without cutting all the way through — open it like a book.
  3. Brush both sides generously with Italian dressing.
  4. Spread the pepperoncini and roasted red peppers evenly over the bread.
  5. Layer the beef pastrami, smoked turkey, beef salami, and beef pepperoni evenly.
  6. Add Fontina cheese slices on top, then sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Place the sub on the baking sheet and bake for 10–13 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, close the sandwich, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

For the freshest taste, get meats sliced fresh at the deli and bread from the bakery. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the peppers for extra flavor. Add lettuce, tomato, and onion after baking for a fresh, crunchy bite.
