Description

Baked Crack Chicken is a savory, cheesy, and creamy dish featuring flavors of bacon, ranch, and cheddar, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lbs)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning (divided)
  • 6 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 4 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • 2-3 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Sea salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create even pieces and pound them slightly for even cooking.
  3. Rub the chicken with sea salt, pepper, dried thyme, garlic powder, and half of the ranch seasoning mix.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the cream cheese, butter, and garlic. Add lemon zest, mustard, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the rest of the ranch seasoning. Simmer for a couple of minutes and blend until smooth. Stir in the parsley.
  5. Spread the creamy sauce over the chicken and top with shredded cheddar. Bake for 30 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165°F.
  6. Top with crumbled bacon and green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

Pound the chicken for even cooking; use room temperature cream cheese for a smoother sauce; check the internal temperature for safety.
