Description

A delightful spring dish featuring tender asparagus coated in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect as a side or main dish.

Ingredients

  • Fresh asparagus (1 bunch)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Minced garlic (3 cloves)
  • Heavy cream (½ cup)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (½ cup)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Lemon zest (1 teaspoon, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Asparagus: Rinse and trim the ends of the asparagus to remove woody parts.
  2. Sauté: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Cook Asparagus: Place asparagus in the skillet, stirring occasionally. Cook for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender but still crisp.
  4. Make the Sauce: Pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Add Parmesan cheese, season with salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened slightly.
  5. Combine: Toss the cooked asparagus in the creamy sauce until well coated.
  6. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

Notes

For a dairy-free option, replace heavy cream with a plant-based alternative and use nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
