Description
A delightful spring dish featuring tender asparagus coated in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect as a side or main dish.
Ingredients
- Fresh asparagus (1 bunch)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Minced garlic (3 cloves)
- Heavy cream (½ cup)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (½ cup)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Lemon zest (1 teaspoon, optional)
Instructions
- Prep the Asparagus: Rinse and trim the ends of the asparagus to remove woody parts.
- Sauté: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Cook Asparagus: Place asparagus in the skillet, stirring occasionally. Cook for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender but still crisp.
- Make the Sauce: Pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Add Parmesan cheese, season with salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened slightly.
- Combine: Toss the cooked asparagus in the creamy sauce until well coated.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
Notes
For a dairy-free option, replace heavy cream with a plant-based alternative and use nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
