Ingredients
- 6 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and let sit for about 15 minutes.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Stir in the melted butter and buttermilk until just combined.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly across the bottom.
- Pour the batter over the apples, spreading it with a spatula for even coverage.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
