A classic meatloaf infused with garlic and Parmesan, offering a moist texture and savory flavor that transforms a simple meal into an aromatic feast.
Ingredients
- 1 kg ground beef
- 150 g Panko breadcrumbs
- 240 ml whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 120 g freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1.5 tsp fine sea salt
- 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 120 ml ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine Panko breadcrumbs and milk, and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef, beaten eggs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the breadcrumb mixture and combine gently.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar, then spread two-thirds of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until the internal temperature hits 70°C (160°F).
- Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice and serve with reserved glaze on the side.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Ensure fresh ingredients are used for enhanced flavor.
